WHAT IS EXCHANGE?

Exchange, America's Service Club, is a group of men and women working together to make our communities better places to live through programs of service in Americanism, Community Service, Youth Activities, and its national project, the Prevention of Child Abuse.

OUR HISTORY

The first local Exchange Club was formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1911. The second was the Exchange Club of Toledo, Ohio formed in 1913. The National Exchange Club headquarters is located in Toledo, Ohio. Since 1917, hundreds of clubs have been chartered in the United States and Puerto Rico, with nearly 28,000 members making a positive difference in their own communities everyday.

We are America's Service Club. From our organization's earliest days, Exchange Clubs have been unselfishly serving their communities. The diverse array of Exchange-sponsored programs and projects has made a considerable impact on America, enhancing the lives of countless men, women and children across the nation.

During its history, the club has raised over a quarter of a million dollars in support of many worthwhile organizations such as Worthington Street Shelter,YWCA Battered Womens' Complex and Rehab Center, Girl Scouts of America, Boys' and Girls' Club, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, The Gray House, White Street House, Clowning for Kids Foundation, Springfield Rescue Mission, Holyoke Soldiers' Home, Shriners' Hospital, Forest  Park Zoo (the original train), Springfield Science Museum (helped fund the T. Rex replica), United Cerebral Palsy, Laughing Brook, Camp Atwater, Channel 57 and many others.

Exchange also gives out a Blue and Gold Award each year recognizing heroic service as well as the A.C.E Award (a scholarship program which recognizes students who  have overcome many difficulties to graduate from high school).
